Changing Seasons
04:40
|
|
||
The bright warm sun
shines on a backyard
and its beams fall down
on the white walls of the neighbouring house
and close by bloomed
the first yellow flower of the season
hiding its beauty in disguise
An old woman is sleeping in her chair
at the house door alone
petals of the flower reminds her
that the youth is a memory
and the life is almost gone
Meantime near
a poor and pretty maiden in her prime
walks on the first warm day of spring
to see how is her granny
in such quiet and splendid time
barely can be heard
the doorbell ring
And the old woman is sitting in her chair
at the house door alone
petals of the flower reminds her
that the youth is a memory
and the life is almost gone
When the maiden kissed
her granny good day
everywhere was gold of that kiss
gold in the leaves of the lowly flower
gold in the sunlight
and on the maiden's lips
They sat
and watched the flower
they laughed
and the light filled their hearts
because they knew the sun
rose again
and for the very first time

Through Ice and Snow
03:57
|
|

Farewell she said
run my friend
as quickly as you can
over stumps
fly like the wind
to that great ice plain
She's too cold to speak
but I can give her no greater power
than the one she already keeps within
We must hurry
wolves are howling
ravens ringing high
while up in the sky
shimmer red lights
like tempting flames of fire
See how strong she is
how she’s got through that all barefooted
still there is a very long way to go
Through the desert of ice and snow now
to the unknown I wade alone
Through the desert of ice and snow now
I’ve reached the end

The Only Way
04:55
|
|
||
Leaves are falling down again
another season’s end
is drawing near
and I’m still here
pages of my memories
falling down from trees
long past sights
right before my eyes
I see
my dreams so far away
still I keep on reaching
for me it is the only way
through my hands the time
is slipping fast
Hear the whispers in the gale
those will never fail
who’ll never try
to sacrifice
no one will really ever know
where tomorrow goes
and now I see
the road is free
I go
my dreams are far away
why do I keep on reaching
for me it is the only way
through my hands the time
is slipping fast
Far to the sun
across the skyline
heading all my thoughts
and fading
Far to the sun
across the skyline
heading for my thoughts
and like the rain descending
where I belong

Shadows on the Wall
06:24
|
|
||
Breath in
we get closer
one step to promised land
pass on the old gate
to the courtyard
and take care
'cause dreams descend
Hold me tight my love
in your gentle arms
in the flickering torches light
warm my hands my love
soon our tunes resound
down the valey through the night
All has hushed for a little while
we watched our shadows
come to life
Wild fires
dance around us
some things are left untold
all must take its end
but now I feel
that the time means nothing
in your fold
Hold me tight my love
in your gentle arms
in the flickering torches light
warm my hands my love
soon our tunes resound
down the valey through the night
(Like the silent stars above
shine your eyes
when I’m by your side)
Come round to me the memories
as I walk through dusty halls
again I see the shadows
on the ancient wall
Again I see the shadows
on the ancient wall

Mountains
04:13
|
|
||
When the world was young
mountains green
and the Moon freshly born
without names
were every stream and stone
One day a footprint appeared in the sand
a man came with a hammer in hand
The world turned gray
and the mountains grew old
but they stand in pride and tall
wind and rain beat down on them
but they shall never make them fall
The wind carried away the sound
of axes felling hundreds of trees
the silence of the hundreds of dried seas
brown leaves and eagles
from autumn sky
and the stench of places
where the last man died
The world turned gray
and the mountains grew old
but they stand in pride and tall
wind and rain beat down on them
but they shall never make them fall
The world turned gray
and the mountains grew old
but they stand without a stain
instead of green forests the ruins of towns
the old memory of mankind remained

Ivory Gate Kadaň, Czechia
Originally a progressive metal band from Czech Republic founded in 1998 who decided to set forward on a great individual
